With a total weight of up to 4.7 tonnes, the SILO KOMPAKT XL silage roller achieves a particularly high compaction performance. The water-fillable drum and frame ensure precise adjustment of the roller weight and a more even depth effect. The standard side shift enables precise working right up to the silo walls and creates the best conditions for efficient harvesting and high-quality silage.

The XL silage team

The combination of the SILO KOMPAKT XL silage roller and the SILO FOX KOLOSS silage spreader forms a professional-class silage team and sets new standards in forage harvesting. With a working width of up to 3.7 metres and a maximum weight of up to 2.5 tonnes, the Koloss distributes even the largest quantities of feed evenly over the entire silage area in the shortest possible time. Immediately afterwards, the SILO KOMPAKT XL silage roller with a working width of 3.0 metres and a total weight of up to 4.7 tonnes applies the necessary pressure for intensive compaction and an even depth effect. The perfectly coordinated interaction of distribution and compaction technology results in a highly efficient workflow with enormous impact, which minimises air pockets, reduces feed losses and creates the basis for high-quality, nutrient-rich silage – even with large harvest quantities and high time pressure.

Accessories

Silage edge compactor – can also be combined with hydraulic lateral adjustment

Particularly when compacting free-standing silo heaps without walls, the challenge is to build up the edges firmly and evenly and to secure them without the risk of the roller tractor tipping over. The MAMMUT side edge compactor, which is available as an accessory, is the ideal assistant here. This option can be mounted either on one side (left or right) or, from type SK 250 ST, even on both sides. A dual-acting control unit at each side of the tractor is required to control the silage edge compactor. The electrical control system, which is also available as an accessory, provides help if the tractor does not have enough dual-acting control options.

Electrical operation – for all functions

The electrical control system is available as an option for the SILO KOMPAKT silo roller so that the hydraulically operated accessories can be conveniently and centrally controlled. This is specially intended for tractors which do not have a sufficient number of dual-acting control units, for example.

The individual functions (hydraulic towing device, control of the silage edge compactor, etc.) are simply selected using a toggle switch.

Marker lights increase safety

To ensure safety when driving the silo roller on public roads, optional marker lights are available for all models. This equipment is particularly useful for inter-company use, as this involves a lot of driving on public roads. The driver is always responsible for complying with the relevant road traffic regulations.

Individual adjustment with optional additional weights

The SILO KOMPAKT silage rollers come standard with a mounting bracket, roller body and frame that can be filled with water. For even greater rolling weight, the mounting bracket can be filled with magnetite granulate instead. It is also possible to mount additional ballast weights on the frame and mounting bracket of the silo roller. All three types of ballast weights can be ideally combined for maximum weight increase. The higher roller weight compacts the feed much more effectively – air pockets are minimised and the structure is stabilised.

The result: Higher silo density, fewer losses due to reheating and more usable dry matter per cubic metre of silage.

Convenient towing thanks to hydraulic solution

The optional, hydraulically folding towing device is used to help with very high silos. With the hook, the tractor with loader wagon, for example, can be easily hitched up and pulled onto the silo without having to dismount. To operate this option, another double-acting function is required on the tractor. Mechanical tow hooks are included in the standard equipment of all SILO KOMPAKT types.
