MAMMUT silage roller – the hydraulically adjustable models

Variable working width for feed preservation flexibility

With the hydraulically adjustable models of the SILO KOMPAKT silo roller, a working width of 2.50 or 3.00 m can be chosen. The frame, which is guided by a slide bearing, can be easily moved 500 mm to the left or right with a hydraulic cylinder. This makes working safe and comfortable, particularly at the edges or silo walls, and also increases the range of use of the device in the compaction process.

Convenient – the hydraulic lateral adjustment

The SILO KOMPAKT silage roller is also available as a hydraulically adjustable model in widths of 2.50 and 3.00 m. The roller can easily be moved 500 mm to the right or left with a dual-acting hydraulic cylinder.

This makes work safe and comfortable, particularly a the edges or the silo wall, since you do not need to roll to the outermost edge with the tractor tyres.

The use of the silo roller also increases the working comfort for the driver considerably, since the feed is compacted over the entire track width of the roller and the compaction time is therefore significantly reduced.

Accessories

Silage edge compactor – can also be combined with hydraulic lateral adjustment

Particularly when compacting grass or maize silage in freestanding heaps without walls, it is often a challenge to build up the edges firmly and evenly and secure them without the risk of the roller tractor tipping over. Because here, too, it is important that the silage is of consistently high quality throughout the entire silo.

The side edge compactor, which is available as an accessory, provides help here. This option can be mounted either at one side (left or right) or both sides.

A dual-acting control system on the tractor is required to control the lateral silage edge compactor. The electrical control system, which is also available as an accessory, provides help if the tractor does not have a sufficient number of dual-acting control units.

Electrical operation – for all functions

An optional electronic control system is available for the SILO KOMPAKT silage roller so that the machine and the accessories can be controlled conveniently and centrally. Particularly for tractors that do not have a sufficient number of dual-acting control units, for example.

The individual functions such as lateral adjustment or the operation of the silage edge compactor are easily actuated using a toggle switch.

Street lighting system increases safety

In order to be safe on the road with the silo roller, an optional street lighting system is available for all models. This equipment is particularly useful for inter-company use, since many road trips have to be made. The driver of the vehicle is always responsible for complying with the relevant road traffic regulations.

Individual adjustment with optional additional weights

For an even higher roller weight, additional ballast weights can be mounted on the frame of the silage roller. These accessories increase the total weight of the unit by a further 290 kg. NEW: from the 2022 model series, concrete or magnetite weights are also available for the SILO KOMPAKT for mounting directly on the silage roller’s headstock. For maximum weight increase, both ballast weight types can be ideally combined. The magnetite weight on the headstock, for example, adds 490 kg.

Convenient towing thanks to hydraulic solution

The optional, hydraulically folding towing device is used to help with very high silos. With the hook, the tractor with loader wagon, for example, can be easily hitched up and pulled onto the silo without having to dismount. To operate this option, another double-acting function is required on the tractor. The hydraulic towing device cannot be combined with the side edge compactor (accessory) on the SK 250 H model. However, this is possible with all other models without any problems. Mechanical towing hooks are fitted as standard on all SILO KOMPAKT types.
