The SILO CAT Type N is the perfect shear grab for compact loaders or farmyard loaders or small front loaders. With its lightweight, compact design, the benefits of the SILO CAT can also be employed on smaller carrier vehicles. In terms of convenience and speed and ease of movement, it is every bit as good as the larger models.

Universal attachment options

With SILO CAT, a tremendously wide range of attachment options is available for the tractor (with and without lifting equipment), and for front-loaders, farmyard loaders, wheeled loaders and telehandlers. This makes implement changes much faster because it is no longer necessary to perform time-consuming adjustment of the mounting for the individual carrier vehicle. All attachments are screwed and are easy to replace, with no welding required. Due to the compact size and lightweight design of machines in the N series, an attachment for a front loader or a farmyard loader is often ordered at the same time.

Ideal: Corn plate for a closed rear wall

The completely closed rear wall prevents finely chopped corn silage getting lost while in transit. As standard, the grey frame of the SILO CAT N opens at the back. The corn plate holds the feed components in the cutting basket together compactly – a floor plate is available as a separate accessory to cover the tines.

Hinged floor plate for fine-grained silage

The tines on the silage shears can be covered with an optional floor plate and this is the perfect way to prevent the loss of fine-grained feed while in transit. This accessory is available for all SILO CAT models. With the Type N, there is a choice between a hydraulic or mechanical hinged floor plate. Various activation options and valves make the hydraulic hinged plate easier to operate if the carrier vehicle does not have sufficient dual-action functions. The hinged floor plate cannot be combined with the pusher.

Hydraulic floor plate

Ideal for automatic feeding systems: the hydraulic pusher.

The silo block can be set down conveniently with a hydraulic full pusher. This additional equipment is perfectly suited to the filling of automatic livestock feeding systems or for laying in a stock of silage. This pusher can also be used with the silo cutting shovel for setting down a block of corn silage in an animal shed, or for loading the feed mixer where the loader does not have sufficient headroom for tipping. It is easy to push the silo block into the mixer carriage without the need to tilt the shears. If there are not enough double-action control units on the carrier vehicle, it is advisable to install a sequential shift valve (which can also be sourced from MAMMUT).

Hydraulic pusher is available as an option.

With the full-size pusher, the silage block is pushed conveniently off the tines.

When removing silage from the feed silo, the pusher is perpendicular on the frame of the silo shears.

A vast range of different control units and valves for SILO CAT

In combination with a hydraulically activated accessory such as lifting frame, a floor plate or a pusher, it is advisable to equip the silage shear grab with control elements or valves from MAMMUT. If the carrier vehicle does not have sufficient double-action functions, this is an easy way to remedy that issue.
