When you think of MAMMUT, you think of innovation, quality and a clear vision – and this vision was largely shaped by Reinhold Frauscher. To mark Reinhold’s 60th birthday, we take a look at an incredible journey that has shaped the company to this day. Under his leadership, MAMMUT has not only continuously developed its products, but has also reached new heights as a company.

A start with vision
In 1985, after graduating from the technical college in Steyr, Reinhold Frauscher joined the family business. Even then, he was convinced by the idea of developing innovative solutions for agriculture and mechanical engineering. During his first few years at the company, he worked in all areas of the workshop – from production to technical support. This practical experience not only laid the foundation for his deep understanding of the products, but also for his later entrepreneurial decisions. It was this combination of practical knowledge and vision that was to characterise Reinhold as an entrepreneur in the years that followed.
A bold step - the takeover in 1992
After completing his master craftsman’s examination and aged just 27, Reinhold Frauscher followed in his father’s footsteps and took over the management of MAMMUT. This courageous step at a young age was a turning point for the company, which was still in its infancy at the time. Reinhold brought fresh ideas and a clear vision of how he wanted to develop the company. Whilst he relied on the tradition of the family business, he also brought the necessary innovative strength to take the brand to the next level.
Innovation that changed the industry
Another milestone in the history of MAMMUT was the development of the shear grab in 1994. Under Reinhold’s leadership, the clamp became a real breakthrough in silage technology and is still a MAMMUT trademark today. This development laid the foundation for MAMMUT’s silage technology, which is now in great demand throughout Europe. It not only brought technical innovations, but also epitomises MAMMUT’s general goal: continuous improvement and the provision of solutions that make customers’ day-to-day work much easier.
Steady growth and expansion
As MAMMUT’s success continued to grow, so did the need for space and infrastructure. In 1996, a new office building was built to accommodate the growing team. With growing success came greater challenges, so Reinhold decided it was time to expand production capacity as well. This expansion enabled MAMMUT to increase production figures and respond even faster to the needs of the market.
2002 - 10,000 MAMMUT concrete mixers
A significant date in the history of MAMMUT was 2002, when the 10,000th MAMMUT concrete mixer was sold. This success not only showed that MAMMUT was on the right track, but also that the company’s products were in high demand in Europe and beyond. The sale of the 10,000th mixer was not just a number – it was proof of the quality and reliability of the machines that characterised MAMMUT worldwide.
2005 - The expansion: New production hall and technical offices
The next big step was taken in 2005 – the expansion of the production hall and the construction of new technical offices and a new spare parts warehouse. These extensions were necessary in order to do justice to the growing success and to further consolidate MAMMUT as an up-and-coming company. From then on, not only lunch breaks were spent together in the newly built recreation room, but also the odd after-work beer.
2007 - 50 years of MAMMUT
2007 was another anniversary for the company – 50 years of MAMMUT. This milestone was a great opportunity to look back on the past decades and celebrate the success of recent years. Reinhold and the entire team were aware that it was not only the quality of the machines that had made the company so successful, but also the unique team spirit that was the foundation of its success. MAMMUT had established itself as a reliable partner in agricultural technology and it was impossible to imagine the industry without it.
2017 - New development of the shear grab
In 2017, MAMMUT launched the new shear grab on the market, which not only brought technical innovations with it, but also took the entire MAMMUT product range in the field of silage technology to a new level. It is important to Reinhold Frauscher that MAMMUT always remains at the forefront of technical development – and so the silage clamp has not only been revised, but completely redeveloped to meet the requirements of modern agriculture.
2025 - Relaunch of the pan mixer - A new era begins
An exciting project was already in the starting blocks for 2025: the relaunch of the pan mixer. This milestone will herald a completely new era for MAMMUT and revolutionise mixing technology. Here too, Reinhold Frauscher shows that innovation and further development will always be part of the company – MAMMUT never stands still.
