An Unforgettable Day of Team Spirit and Adventure

On June 21, 2024, it was time – our company outing was here, and this time we had an exciting program prepared. Our day began with a tour at Palfinger, followed by an action-packed team event, and ended with a relaxing evening.

MAMMUT company outing guided tour by Palfinger

Tour at Palfinger

Our first stop was at Palfinger, a global leader in innovative lifting solutions. During an extensive tour, we gained exclusive insights into the state-of-the-art production processes and the impressive technology behind the products. The Palfinger employees took the time to show us the various departments and answer our many questions. We were particularly fascinated by Palfinger World, where we could experiment with virtual worlds and small model cranes. The tour was extremely educational and inspiring, and we sincerely thank the entire Palfinger team for their hospitality and the exciting tour.

Team Event: Segway Skill Training

After the interesting tour, we made our way to our next program point: Segway skill training. Here, team spirit was the focus. With lots of fun and enthusiasm, we faced the various challenges that awaited us on the Segways. The training not only enhanced our skills but also our teamwork and communication within the team. It was a great opportunity to gain new experiences outside the office routine and to grow closer as a team.

Relaxing Evening at the Mostbauer in Weilbach

After an eventful day, we concluded our company outing at the Mostbauer in Weilbach. In the idyllic surroundings of the farm, we enjoyed good food and cool drinks. The cozy atmosphere provided the perfect opportunity to review the day’s experiences and have relaxed conversations.

A Completely Successful Day

Our company outing 2024 was a complete success. The mix of informative insights, exciting activities, and relaxed get-together made this day an unforgettable experience. We thank everyone involved for the organization and execution, as well as our hosts at Palfinger, the Segway skill training team, and the Mostbauer in Weilbach. We are already looking forward to the next outing and are excited about the adventures next year will bring!

Compaction performance XL

With the new SILO KOMPAKT XL silage roller, we are expanding our range of silo compaction equipment with a particularly powerful model for large mobile silos and the most demanding requirements. The XL roller was specifically developed for professional use, where large quantities of feed have to be compacted within a very short time. The result is dense, air-free silo layers that form the basis for high-quality and nutrient-rich silage. This marks another milestone in the development of efficient silage technology for high-performance farms.

More precision in maize distribution

When harvesting maize, enormous quantities of crop are harvested in a limited time window. In order for the forage to develop its full quality, uniform and even distribution in the silage clamp is crucial. Only in this way can the maize silage be optimally compacted – the basis for high feed quality and economic success.

While large farms rely on maximum working width and additional functions, medium-sized and smaller farms need compact technology that works precisely and powerfully – even in narrow silos or where space is limited. This is precisely why we are adding a new model to our silage dozer blade product range.

With the SP 350 silage dozer blade, we are launching a particularly targeted model that combines power, manoeuvrability and ease of use. Developed for tractors up to 150 hp and narrow silage areas, the new blade scores with the following highlights:

Ensuring the best silage quality: tips for your grass harvest

Each cut during the year brings its own challenges and opportunities. The first cut is generally considered to be the most productive and richest in nutrients, but the subsequent growths also make a significant contribution to the feed ration. To ensure consistently high silage quality throughout the season, it is crucial to ensure the right cutting height, optimum harvest time, correct wilting time and structured feeding into the silo for each cut. This is the only way to ensure that subsequent cuts also contribute to a balanced and high-quality forage supply.

Preparations before the start of ensiling Interaction between meadow and weather

A decisive factor for silage quality is the exact time of harvest. This depends primarily on the stage of development of the grasses and is ideally at panicle emergence. Material harvested too early provides high energy content but little structure. Cutting too late, on the other hand, produces high crude fibre values but lower digestibility. Sufficient time must therefore be allowed to achieve an ideal dry matter content of 30 to 40 per cent.

XXL Forage Harvest at the Konrad Family Farm
XXL Forage Harvest at the Konrad Family Farm
Largest Dairy Farm in Austria

True to the motto: “Agriculture is Passion,” the Konrad family has been working very successfully for many years. With 360 dairy cows and more than 1,000 head of cattle in total, the family farm is the largest dairy farm in Austria. Up to 180 hectares of grassland were ensiled for the first cut this year. With the support of modern MAMMUT silage equipment, the huge amounts of forage were processed efficiently. The harvest was documented professionally by Agropictures for all to see.

Voices from the Field

Thanks to the innovative silage technology, including the powerful silage spreader and efficient silage roller, the Konrad family was able to manage the forage harvest optimally. The combination of these machines ensured uniform distribution and excellent compaction of the feed, significantly improving silage quality. Additionally, the family and all workers were greatly relieved by the use of this technology. Johann Konrad and Johann Konrad Jr. are extremely pleased with the results and are well-prepared for the rest of the harvest year.
